JBL 5.1 wireless soundbar firmware update. Step-by-step guide:
Step 1. Define current version of your software
Check the version of Software installed on your soundbar: press and hold the DIM DISPLAY button on the remote control for 5 seconds, followed by the short press of the SOUND MODE and then the short press of the NIGHT MODE button.
Step 2. Find the latest version of JBL 5.1 software
Find the latest version of Software on the jbl.com in the Documents and Downloads section – Software.
Step 3. Download
Download the latest version to your computer. The file will be in the zip format.
Step 4. Extract
Extract the firmware .zip file.
Step 5. Prepare USB stick
Format your USB stick in FAT32. Note that all files will be deleted from your USB in the process of formatting. Step 6. Create a UPG folder

Your USB drive should now have a unity.bin file in the UPG folder (extracted in Step 4)
Step 8. Speakers connection and AUX input
Connect the wireless speakers to your soundbar and subwoofer upgrade port to AUX input using 3,5mm AUX-in cable.
Step 9. USB connection
Power on your soundbar and insert USB driver on the back of the soundbar.
Step 10. Starting the update process
Using the soundbar’s (POWER) and (VOL -) buttons, press and hold them for at least ten seconds.
Result
When this is done, the soundbar will begin the upgrade procedure, it will cycle through UPG00 – UPG99 or so on the display, then enter standby if everything went well.
